Who these terms are with

PensionInsights is operated by Infilarite Technologies ("we"), a business registered in Canada. These terms are an agreement between you and that business. Reach us at privacy@pensioninsights.ca.

Information, not advice

PensionInsights provides historical statistics and analytics for information and education only. It is not investment, financial, tax, legal, or insurance advice and not a recommendation to buy, sell, hold, or switch any fund. No fiduciary or advisory relationship is created. You are solely responsible for your decisions.

Using this in your work with other people

Some readers use this service in paid work. If you are one of them, the following applies to you on top of everything else here.

• Our statistics are one input. They are not a sufficient basis for a conclusion you reach on someone else's behalf, and they describe funds, never people.
• Whether anything here suits the person in front of you is your judgement and your responsibility, as is holding whatever registration or licence that work requires. We hold none, and we act for nobody.
• You may not republish our figures, tables or rankings as your own work, under your own name, or as part of a service you sell.
• If you show someone else something taken from here, our name and the disclaimer above travel with it.
• We have no relationship with the people you work for and owe them nothing. Nothing on this site creates one.

Eligibility

The service is offered in Canada excluding Quebec, to users 18 or older.

No guarantee / "AS IS"

The service and all data are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, merchantability, or fitness for a purpose. Fund data is sourced from third parties and may be delayed or inaccurate. Many funds in workplace plans are segregated funds, which are insurance contracts rather than securities. Our statistics describe how a fund's value moved and do not reflect maturity or death benefit guarantees, resets, or other contract terms. We do not identify which funds are segregated contracts; your plan documents do.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PensionInsights and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any decision made in reliance on the service; total liability will not exceed the fees you paid in the prior 12 months.

If you connect your own AI assistant

Pro accounts can give an AI assistant read access to the same figures you see on this site. If you do that, the assistant is yours. You choose it, you run it, you configure it, and your agreement about it is with whoever supplies it, not with us. We have no control over it and no relationship with its supplier.

Once you connect one, your questions and the figures we send back go to that supplier's software. We did not choose it and we are not party to its terms or its privacy notice. Read both before you connect anything.

What we send is a set of measurements with a notice attached saying what they are and what they are not. What comes back to you is the assistant's own writing. A language model can restate a figure it was never given, describe something it was never told, and say all of it in the same voice as the parts it got right. We did not create that limit and we cannot remove it. What we do is attach the notice and a short set of rules to every answer we send, keep whole fields out of what an assistant can ever see, and test what comes back against a fixed set of questions. Our pricing page says in plain words what that achieves and what it does not. None of it makes the assistant's writing ours, and none of it is a promise about any single answer.

This site is the record. What an assistant tells you about it is not. Where the two differ, the figures published here are the ones we stand behind and the assistant's account of them is wrong. Read the figures here before you act on anything an assistant told you.

To the largest extent the law allows, we are not liable for anything an AI assistant, agent, or other software you connect writes back to you, or for a decision you make relying on it. That includes an answer that is wrong, invented, out of date, incomplete, or presented as ours when it did not come from us. This does not reduce what we owe you for the figures themselves, which the Limitation of liability section above still covers, and it does not reach anything the law does not allow us to exclude, including our own gross negligence, wilful misconduct, fraud, or injury to a person.

If you show an assistant's answer to someone else and they bring a claim against us over it, you will cover our reasonable costs of defending that claim and any award made against us, except so far as the claim is actually about a mistake in the figures we sent you.

Subscriptions

Billing, renewal, cancellation, and refunds are handled by our Merchant-of-Record; cancel anytime, effective at the end of the paid period.

Intellectual property

Our metrics, rankings, and content are ours; provider and fund names are trademarks of their owners used for identification only; we claim no affiliation.

Governing law

The laws of the Province of Saskatchewan and the federal laws of Canada apply, and you submit to the courts of Saskatchewan.

Assignment

We may transfer these terms, and our rights and obligations under them, to another business we own or control, or to a business that takes over this service; the terms carry over unchanged and we will say so on this page. You may not transfer your account to someone else.
