Higher volatility means larger historical total-return movements, not necessarily worse performance: a fund that can rise 35% in a year can fall by a similar amount. Each risk level carries how far that fund's daily moves went up against how far they went down over the past year, or "not measured" where we do not have those figures. Earlier readings under "Was" predate those figures.
