PensionInsights is live.
The idea behind it is narrow. Someone with a workplace pension plan can usually see their balance and very little about the risk they are carrying to get it. The funds inside those plans are not the ones that come up in an ordinary fund search, so even an advisor often cannot look them up quickly.
We take publicly available fund data, recompute how much each fund has actually been moving, and publish that as a risk tier.
What the platform answers
How a fund’s risk has changed over time.
How its volatility compares with funds in the same category.
Whether steadier options exist in that same category.
Whether recent performance is arriving with more movement than it used to.
We did not launch when the site worked. We launched when the numbers stopped surprising us. Months went into that, and it is the part nobody sees.
Starting with Canada Life
Coverage begins with the funds available through Canada Life retirement and pension programs. More providers are already in progress.
What this is not
We are not registered advisers. We do not manage money, and we do not tell anyone what to buy, sell, hold or switch. We publish measurements of risk that people are already carrying. What to do about them is your decision.
PensionInsights is independent. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Canada Life or any other institution whose funds appear here. Analytics are based on publicly available data and are provided for information only.
